When Alex Thomason had to surrender his VW TDI following Diesel-gate, the doors of an Audi S5 literally opened up to him. The car came equipped with an excellent aftermarket package, but Thomason needed a killer Audi S5 exhaust to complete the kit.
The previous owner had built the 2013 S5 with help from TAG Motorsports in Vista, CA. So when Alex bought the vehicle, it was fully loaded with GIAC software, Apikol rear diff mount, Brembo GT big brakes, an ENLAES EB8C carbon body kit, AccuAir suspension with Bilstein dampers and more.
It was a great package and Alex limited himself to changing the color of the brake calipers and decals, plus upgrading to Fifteen 52 wheels and an aftermarket exhaust.
The hunt for a suitable exhaust led Alex to BORLA in search of the right combination of sound, performance, and quality. The result was the creation of a new BORLA Cat-Back Exhaust System for the 2013-2017 Audi S5.
“The BORLA exhaust is amazing,” Alex enthused. “I love how there’s no drone on the freeway. But when you get on the throttle, the exhaust really comes to life.
“The BORLA S-Type muffler isn’t extremely loud, yet it’s loud enough to sound good. Performance-wise, I can feel the throttle is more responsive. It also allows the engine to produce more DSG “pops”, which are addictive!”
