Camaro owners and enthusiast from across Southern California were invited to attend the second annual BORLA® Tech Day. It was hosted by renowned Chevy performance specialists, Cunningham Motorsports in Murrieta, CA. Attendees received an education in Camaro performance upgrades and enjoyed a great free meal courtesy of BORLA.
Cunningham Motorsports kicked things off with a rundown of the day’s events, which included a CMS software tune for the VorTech supercharged 2016 BORLA Camaro SS. CMS ran the BORLA Camaro on its in-house dyno to highlight the full BORLA exhaust system, which features long-tube headers and 3” ATAK® system with BORLA Carbon Fiber tips. Camaro fans were able to experience the BORLA Sound of Power, which was especially impressive inside the huge CMS workshop. After baseline numbers where recorded, the CMS team was able to find an additional 40hp over the original VorTech tune, guaranteeing an enjoyable drive for the BORLA team when returning home.
Following the BORLA Camaro, CMS began installation of a BORLA Cat-back™ S-Type exhaust system for a 2016 Camaro that belonged to a CMS customer. The installation gave owners the chance to witness the ease of installation as well as the BORLA quality that allows the company to provide its Million Mile Warranty on all its exhaust products.
Over the course of the afternoon, David Borla and CMS host Troy Gleason entertained the crowd with information about BORLA history, development, and technology, as well as its commitment to providing performance products for Camaros as well as GM itself.
Throughout the program, CMS conducted several runs on their dyno to showcase before and after comparisons for each of the three featured topics, which also included an E85 conversion, which is a popular upgrade offered by Cunningham Motorsports.
In addition to the activities in the workshop, guest enjoyed a complimentary lunch from the Devilicious food truck – regarded as one of the best trucks in the area.
While eating and conversing, the enthusiasts gathered around the many eye-grabbing Camaros on display, including cars from Lethal Camaro and friends. The group showcased a collection of sixth-gen models, adding to the event’s attractions.
Before visitors left to continue their weekend, a raffle was held for all registered attendees, with one lucky person winning a stainless steel BORLA exhaust for his Camaro. Others were gifted BORLA swag, including hats and T-shirts. A car care kit was also donated by Kreative Details.
Overall, the BORLA® Tech Day was an entertaining and informative day for Camaro fans, with CMS giving them an insight into a number of upgrades, and BORLA demonstrating the many benefits of its performance exhaust systems.
