All of these upgrades combine to give the engine an edge over its predecessors.
Even if owners don’t select the 10-speed automatic, the 2018 Mustang has an improved transmission. The transmission you get will depend on the trim you choose, but each one is an upgrade over the sixth generation Mustang. The six-speed manual, for example, has a new dual-mass flywheel which will reduce vibration, noise and harshness. It also got an improved twin-disc clutch that gives more torque capacity than previous models. The overall feel of the shifter is better too.
