Cat-Back Systems for the Silverado 1500

All current Borla systems for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are Cat-Back configurations. A Cat-Back system replaces the full exhaust path from the catalytic converters back, including the mid-pipe, muffler, and tips.

Fitment note: The 6.2L ATAK® Cat-Back (Part #140998) fits factory split rear exit vehicles only. Not compatible with ZR2 or AT4X models. Confirm factory tip exit configuration before ordering.

Borla offers dedicated Cat-Back exhaust systems for the 2022–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, available in all three sound levels: Touring, S-Type, and ATAK®. These systems are engineered specifically for the ZR2 chassis and exhaust configuration and are not interchangeable with standard Silverado 1500 systems. All systems are built from T-304 stainless steel, are 50-state street legal, and use a cut-and-clamp installation method. All required hardware and instructions included.

Fitment Notes

Body configurations covered: extended cab with standard bed (6’ 7”, 143.5” wheelbase) and crew cab with short bed (5’ 9”, 143.5” wheelbase). Available in 2WD and 4WD. Automatic and manual transmission where applicable.

ZR2 and AT4X exclusion: The 6.2L ATAK® Cat-Back (Part #140998) is not compatible with ZR2 or AT4X models. It fits factory split rear exit vehicles only.

Tip exit configurations available include dual split rear exit, single split rear exit, split side exit, and side exit, depending on the specific application. Tip finishes vary by part number — chrome, black chrome, and carbon fiber are available across the lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the generation. The 2014–2018 and 1999–2007 systems are direct bolt-on using factory mounting points. The 2019–2026 and 2009–2013 systems use a cut-and-clamp method — the stock exhaust is cut at a specified location and the Borla system clamps on using the supplied hardware, with no welding required. For daily driving and towing, Touring is the right choice. It stays composed at highway cruise RPM under towing loads. For a more aggressive tone, S-Type is the most popular option. For maximum volume, ATAK® is available on the 6.2L V8. All three sound levels use No Drone technology.

Confirmed fitment covers extended cab with standard bed (6’ 7”) and crew cab with short bed (5’ 9”) in 2WD and 4WD. A separate extension pipe is also available to adapt the system to fit the crew cab with standard bed. These are ZR2-specific part numbers and are not interchangeable with standard Silverado 1500 systems.
